In November of 2003 Wesley Hodges and Bryan Raskin opened Mirador Glass. They began working from a small garage where they created beautiful handmade tableware, stemware, cups and mugs. Although they were experienced glass blowers, owning a business and selling products was a new experience.

Wes and Bryan’s passion for creating hand-blown glass objects soon drew them to expand their product line to include unique, vibrantly colored lampshades each personally signed by the glass blower. Mirador built their business locally by offering free in-home consultations which they still enjoy providing today. They are partnered with a licensed electrician, Bill Cummings from Cummings Electrical to assist homeowners in the installation of their new lamps.

The reception to their new product was so positive that Bryan and Wes decided to display their shades at the Light Fair International in New York City. On display with nationally recognized lighting

companies from across the world, the reputation of Mirador Glass was launched, receiving accolades from buyers, interior designers and lighting galleries all interested in displaying and utilizing Mirador Glass shades.

As the demand for their unique shades has grown Wes and Bryan have continued to blend new colors, designs and shapes. In fact one of Mirador’s favorite requests is to create a unique color palette for a new restaurant or home interior to match the planned décor. They never tire of seeing the colors of each shade come alive when the lamp is lit. A simple change in the design or alteration to the color can completely change a shade.

One of the comments most often heard at Mirador Glass is, “I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s amazing!” Wes and Bryan agree they are fortunate to be in a business that allows them to care for their families and at the same time do something they love-light up homes and businesses across the world with beautiful Mirador Glass lampshades.
